I invite you to relax completely from the moment you step through my door and are welcomed into my healing space. The gentle scents of essential oils will stimulate a deeper relaxation as you become
aware of your breathing. My table is padded and heated to allow your body to
soften, and the room is kept warm to allow for your comfort both clothed and unclothed.
At any time during
a session you may let me know that you are too warm or cold, need to use the restroom, would like some water, or are uncomfortable
in any way. Also, I count on you to indicate if anything I am doing is painful
for you. There is no need for you to suffer in pain to have a healing experience.
This is not to say that you shouldn’t feel anything … simply that there is a balance to be found.
Each session is a unique experience as I practice many different techniques and modalities of body-work and healing
and will use in each session those that suit your specific needs that moment. It
is an intuitive unfoldment where you are always an integral participant in determining the direction we move through the session. The better you are able to convey to me your goals at each session, the better I will
be able to direct you toward achieving them in the most beneficial way for you.
During the session, I may ask you how you are feeling, or where you are at mentally. I
may also explain what I am doing and what I am sensing from your body so that you may become more aware in your body and be
better equipped to care for it. If I explain or inquire too much, please feel
free to let me know that you would benefit more from silence, and if silence becomes uncomfortable, you may also ask that
I give more verbal guidance.
After the session,
we will talk about any differences you feel in your body and I may give you a bit of homework; perhaps a stretching routine
that may keep you more relaxed, a thought pattern to pay attention to, nutritional options to consider, or simply some idea
to ponder.
